When You
Can’t Figure Out Why You’re So Tired… It
May Be Your Adrenal Gland
Do you frequently ask yourself,
“Why am I so tired?”
Are you carrying around a ball and chain that
you just can’t seem to shake?
Do you feel a major drop in energy production
and concentration around 10:00 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.?
It could be that your adrenal gland, the gland
that helps you deal with stress effectively, needs a boost.
It could be that a virus you contracted in
the past, such as Epstein-Barr virus, or a type of bacteria
that’s transmitted from ticks could be responsible for
your fatigue.
It’s possible that your hormones are
out of balance or your body has accumulated heavy metal toxicity
and environmental toxins to the point where they’re
interfering with cellular function, creating fatigue that
won’t go away.
All these possibilities mean it’s time
to really see what’s wrong. It’s time to return
your energy back to its naturally high level, or if your energy
never was high, it’s time to get your energy to where
it deserves to be.
There are many reasons for fatigue, and the
first sensible step to take is to find out with blood tests
what exactly is going on. Is your adrenal gland affected?
Is your blood sugar involved? What about your electrolytes?
Signs and symptoms of adrenal fatigue include:
• difficulty getting up in the morning,
• continued fatigued not relieved by sleep,
• cravings for salt or salty foods, particularly foods
that also contain excessive fats such as potato chips, french
fries, etc.
• increased effort to do everyday tasks
• decreased sex drive
• light headed when standing up quickly
• colds that drag on for multiple weeks
• increased PMS
• menstrual irregularities
• bloating
• irritability
However, merely looking at a list of symptoms
and deciding that you have them all and you’ll supplement
with whatever product you can find is not enough to eliminate
the fatigue. Often, fatigue is multifaceted and each aspect
of it needs to be addressed.
There are several testing mechanisms to diagnose
and effectively treat adrenal fatigue. First and foremost,
a complete hormonal profile is utilized. This enables us to
find out if there are other deficiencies that exist in the
endocrine system.
A careful review of history and an examination
will often uncover many causational factors affecting the
endocrine system. Once these are balanced, which usually takes
a few months, energy levels return.
Nutritional therapies, including oral, intravenous,
and intramuscular injections, often bring about the quickest
results. In rare cases, prescription drugs may be indicated.
It is important to remember that adrenal fatigue
did not transpire overnight. The good news is that each month,
you’ll notice more and more energy returning. You’ll
get to the point where you’ll look back and say, “You
know what? I really do feel good.”
And that’s what it’s all
about – getting you so healthy that bad health is only
a glimpse from your past.
