Chronic Fatigue and Weight Control

Chronic Fatigue patients tend to have a more difficult time with weight reduction and maintaining ideal body weight. Lets examine a few causational factors. Most CFIDS patients have difficulties with hormonal balance. Often, CFIDS patients suffer from hormonal axis problems such as thyroid, ovarian, testicular and adrenal function. For example, overweight females with CFIDS tend to have higher levels of the "unfriendly" type of estrogen. Some scientists predict that excess body fat will ultimately prove to be most strongly implicated in the development of so-called hormonal cancers. Those are breast, prostrate, ovary, endometrium and testes. That is because the adipose tissue, i.e. fat cells, tend to be magnets for unwanted converted hormones.

In males with CFIDS, testosterone, particularly free testosterone, can be decreased while the male will have higher levels of estrogen. To assist our CFIDS patients, we find the following to be beneficial:

  • First, look for underlying viral, bacterial and endocrine problems.
  • Myoden shots with B-Complex synergists tend to be extremely helpful in providing energy balance.
  • Intravenous therapeutics with Chelation therapy can be beneficial. Calcium based EDTA can help assist with mitochondria and immune function, providing more energy, thus helping free the body of exogenous heavy metal burden. Feel free to schedule with one of our RN's for your free consult. All of our RN's are certified in advanced IV therapeutics with PIC line certification.

Our MWM program was geared to assist our CFIDS patients. This will help with weight reduction and maintaining your goals. Please feel free to schedule yourself for our BMI testing. If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us at 520-297-9664.
